What you need to know

about me.

Born in ’86, I’ve been working with content for quite some time.

Now, I could tell you about my family, my hobbies or my favorite movie. But what you need to know about me, really, is my approach to graphic design – content.

What is content?

Content is, simply put, a product (like a text or an image) created for personal or commercial purposes.

For example, a musical artist can create content, as can a writer or an influencer.

I classify myself as a content creator, working with both words and images.

25 years a writer, 20 years a photographer. 10 years a graphic designer.

What kind of job is content creator?

You don’t have to be paid to be a create content (although, it helps). Content is out there – in social media, tutorials, music, videos, pictures and much more.

The definitive difference, if you get paid to make content – especially for other people to see – you’re a content creator.

What’s my experience as a content creator?

I’ve made my living primarily as a full time writer, but also freelanced as a photographer and graphic designer.

The reason I’m currently studying graphic design – even though I’ve had experience in the field – is to learn all the tools, from the ground up.

And as the industry changes, so do the tools. So does the job.

The elephant in the room – AI

In an ever changing industry, and with the introduction of AI, it’s crucial to hold on to the foundation of the
craft.

I’m not principally against AI
as a toolbut I prefer the traditional process of creating content.

Consider this: If I were to ask someone to paint a picture of a cat, and then give them the brush to paint it, could I still claim it to be my creation? An idea is only an idea until it is fleshed out.

Now, I use AI freely, when needed and when a deadline demands it. But i restrict it to simpler tasks – such as removing specks of dust in a picture.

However, I draw the line at handing over the brush completely. The idea, and the work, should always be mine.
